Well, it is Thursday and I’ve been watching a building full of learning, laughing, children. The bright eyes and the sound of laughter coming from these kids makes this big church building seem warm and alive! We are so blessed to have so many children in this church. It is also great to see so many children from our community with us this week. I’ve watched as adults and youth have given three hours + every day this week. THANK ALL OF YOU, who have given so much to make all this happen. Jesus was clear that how we treat children is a sign of whether we get what it means to be in the kingdom of God. Thank you for “getting it!” Keep up the good work as we strive to be church that is a safe place for children to learn what it means to follow Jesus.
I love pastoring a child friendly church. . .Don
Well, I’ve read a lot of blogs, but I’ve never been the source of one. I guess it is time for me to get with it and enter the “blogosphere!”
I don’t know that I’ll be able to share every day, but will as often as I can. I’ll use this medium to share thoughts on ministry and insights into our life and work as a church. I see many things in the course of a day and so often, as I am doing ministry I learn so much from those to whom I minister.
We are in a time of great transition as a church. I’ve come to realize that the world really is shifting in its understanding of church. Our call is to keep the message solidly grounded in Christ, and then learn how to share that with this changing world. I hope we can dialogue about how to do that on this blog.
I would ask that we be very aware that this is not a place to address personal issues you have with anyone. I’m always open if you need to discuss those things with me personally. Let’s allow this to be a place of spiritual growth and challenge.
So, I guess I’m about to click save and publish and I wll have entered yet a new arena, for me, in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
God bless our words!
Don
